to the Lone Star EMMY Chapter. As part of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences we are the standard-bearers for excellence in the television broadcasting industry and the gatekeepers of the prestigious regional EMMY Awards in Texas.

Lone Star EMMY represents the most experienced and talented television professionals from all disciplines of the industry and from all of Texas’ 19 television markets.

2009 Advanced Media Awards Call for Entries

The AMA's recognize creative and innovative approaches to the practice, presentation and delivery of news & programming material. They are open to over-the-air, cable, satellite and internet broadcasters, and are intended to recognize new ways of doing documentaries, broadcast journalism and entertainment, from new approaches to traditional broadcasts, to the use of new media (associated websites, interactivity etc.), to other creative and innovative means of practicing these crafts and presenting programming to the viewer. For those working in non-traditional media, these categories recognize that their craft often differs from traditional broadcast television in approach, presentation techniques, and delivery, and give online entrants the opportunity to demonstrate the ways they are using new media to create excellent programming.

2009 Excellence in My Market Awards (EMMA) Call for Entries

The Lone Star EMMY Chapter proudly pioneered the EMMAs. The awards are presented for excellence in television programming and individual crafts achievement in the television arts for DMA stations 75 and below. No entry may be submitted to another Chapter's awards. Recipients do not receive Emmy® statuettes. Instead, stunning, custom-designed EMMA crystal towers engraved with the Emmy® image will be awarded to the honored entries. EMMAs will be held to the same Standard of Excellence exemplified by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Emmy® awards, yet will be judged ONLY by qualified peer-judges from similar-sized television markets in other NATAS Chapters. EMMA recipients are automatically advanced to the EMMY Awards Call for Entries at no additional charge (as long as the awarded piece was first aired during the eligibility period).
